Dixie Mae Creager Ward, 88, passed away in Graham on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2020. A graveside funeral will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020 at 2 p.m. in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Dixie was born in Graham on June 16, 1932 to Richard Hayden Creager and Velma Carroll. She married Lawrence Stephens Ward on Sept. 18, 1948 and he preceded her in death on April 11, 2010. She was a member of the Young County Historical Commission, DAR Silas Morton Chapter, and Desk and Derrick.
Dixie is survived by her sister, Maudie Gann of Decatur and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Lois Richards.
