John Lee Nail, 72, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020 in Sherman. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020 at 2 p.m. in the Oasis of Grace Church. Burial will follow in South Bend Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
John was born July 26, 1948 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to the late Dr. James B. and Alice Jane (Orendorff) Nail. He married Sherrye Burgess July 1, 1978 in Graham.
John was without a doubt a caring husband, father, and grandfather who showered his family with love and acts of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved being outdoors and always looked forward to football season. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed feeding all of his friends and family. His steaks and briskets especially were legendary.
Survivors include: wife, Sherrye Nail of Graham; daughter, Melissa Reese and husband, Chris of Graham; son, John Nail, Jr. of Graham; brother, James Nail of Graham; grandchildren, Kamron Nail, Lyla and Collin Reese.
Visitation was held Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
