Wilbert Wallace “Sam” Brown Jr., 79, passed away at Elison Assisted Living & Memory Care in Graham on Feb. 2, 2022.

Sam was born March 11, 1942, to W.W. (Buck) Brown and Mary (Kirksey) Brown in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Sam is survived by his wife of 18 years, Betty Beck Brown of Graham; his children: Guy Brown and wife Mindy of Wichita Falls, Charisse Brown Marcus and husband Dan of Dallas. He had three grandchildren: Michael and Sara Jane Brown of Wichita Falls; Reese Marcus of Dallas. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Arispe, her husband Tommy, of Graham, and several nieces and nephews.

After discharge from the U.S. Army in 1967, Sam owned and operated an electrical contracting company in Graham for over 50 years. He was a Master Mason and a member of Young County Lodge No. 485 of Graham, Texas, and held the 32nd Degree of the Scottish Rite bodies of Dallas, Texas.

Sam was known for his kind and generous heart and sense of humor. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert Wallace “Buck” Brown and Mary Brown; brothers, Charles B. (C.B.) Brown and Glenn Earl (Pete) Brown; and sisters, June Segars, Martha Carnley, and Lilian Weatherford.

Services are entrusted to McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home in Graham, TX. A graveside memorial service will be held at Pioneer Cemetery later in the Spring.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Peter Brown, Trisha Crossland and the team at Beyond Faith Hospice, and all the staff at Elison for their care and complete support throughout Sam’s final days.
