Roy Calvin Rhoades, age 82, passed away on Sept. 1, in Fort Worth. He was born on Aug. 27, 1940, in Vashti, Texas to Roy Rhoades and Ava Faye (Campsey) Rhoades.
A visitation was held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8, at Coker Funeral Home in Jacksboro. Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at Coker Funeral Home. Burial followed at Hicks Cemetery.
Roy married Velda King on July 14, 1962, in Decatur. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Masonic Lodge.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Wayland Paul Rhoades; brother, Loyd Delton Rhoades and sister, Eva Fox.
Roy is survived by his wife Velda; children, Ronald (Trapper) Rhoades and wife Debbie of Mingus, Gene Rhoades and wife Julie of Decatur, and Denise Stevens and husband Roy of Poolville; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
