Jeanette Fortner Holbert, 86, passed away Monday, Jan. 9, 2017 in Graham. A graveside service will be held Thursday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m. in Proffitt Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Jeanette was born July 5, 1930 in Los Angeles, Calif., to the late William Boyd and Lattye Elaine (Rodgers) Fortner.
She was a former Southwestern Bell telephone operator and retired from Hexcel Corp. as a machine operator.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Townley and husband, Mike, of Newcastle; sons, Rodger Holbert and Terri of Proffitt and Nathan Holbert of Newcastle; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Deane Ethridge; brothers, David and Nelson Fortner; and granddaughter, Amy Keeter Williams.
