G.R. ‘Bob’ Wooldridge

G.R. “Bob” Wooldridge, 92, passed away Monday, Nov. 27, 2017 at his home in Graham. A graveside funeral will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at Proffitt Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Bob was born June 19, 1925 in Newcastle, to the late B.C. and Merl B. (Masters) Wooldridge. At age 18, in 1943, Bob was drafted into service for his country. He served 3 1/2 years in the Army Air Corps in the Asian Theatre, mostly in India and China. He married Betty Rogers on Aug. 9, 1947, and they celebrated 70 years of marriage this year. Bob was a resident of Young County most of his life. He was a heavy equipment operator and later in life owned Wooldridge Construction. Bob was a member of Cowboy Church of Young County.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Wooldridge of Graham; daughters, Jane Brooks of Graham, Susan Allen and husband Randy of Taylor, Miss.; son, Russell Wooldridge and wife Gayla of Pittsburg, Texas; five grandchildren, Lana Pratt of Cibolo, Deana Harkness and husband Jarett of Longview, Kristi Wooldridge of Olney, Justin Allen of Taylor, Miss., and Jacque Stark of Longview; two great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Mitchell of Cibolo and Tristin Pratt of Cibolo; two great- great-grandchildren, Lyne Mitchell and Brody James Mitchell of Cibolo; sister, Ginger Bruton of Elbert; brother, Bill Wooldridge of Graham; also surviving are many loving nieces and nephews who loved "Uncle Bob.”
