Buford Collins Stockard was born in December 1919 in Frost, and died Jan. 16, 2018 in Corsicana. His parents were William Newton Stockard and Mary Collins Stockard. He and Catherine Ponder Stockard celebrated 67 years of marriage before she passed away.
He was a World War II Army veteran of the Pacific Theatre. Rev. Stockard pastored a church in Burnet and the Morningside Baptist Church in Graham, for 31 years.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Sharon and Jerry Cearley, Nan Stockard, David and Linda Stockard, and Jon and Gerlinde Stockard; a sister, Joann Chilton; nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
A brother Bert Stockard and sister Lorena Winton preceded him in death.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 in the Corley Funeral Home Chapel in Corsicana, with Rev. David W. Stockard officiating. A time of visitation will be at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
