Dannie Frank Robertson, of Possum Kingdom Lake, passed away April 28, 2018 at the age of 74. Dannie was born in Cone, Texas to Jack and Johnnie Robertson on Dec. 31, 1943. He grew up in Ralls with his brother, Jack D. “Butch”, and graduated from Ralls High School. Dannie then went to Southwestern Oklahoma University College of Pharmacy.
He married Dixie Stevens in 1963 and the two later moved to Spur. There he owned and operated Dan’s Pharmacy for approximately 30 years and spent some time serving on the Spur ISD school board. They sold the pharmacy in 1997 after Dannie fell ill with cancer.
After regaining his health, they moved to Lubbock, where Dannie went to work for Lowes Pharmacy. Dixie died in 2001 and, in 2004, Dannie married Ginger Houston. They moved to Possum Kingdom Lake in 2012 where Dannie worked at the Walmart Pharmacy in Graham. Dannie had an irreverent since of humor until his last day. He had a big heart and was always welcoming, no matter who you were. He loved the lake, enjoyed teaching many people to ski over the years, and always had a project.
Dannie Frank Robertson is preceded in death by his parents, brother and first wife.
He is survived by his wife; children, Dawn Robertson, Derek Robertson, Danielle Robertson, Dionne Robertson, Rusty Houston and Holly Scaff; daughters-in-law, Crystal Nuding and Lindsey Houston; sons-in-law, Steven Weeks and Scott Scaff; grandchildren, Kelsey Houston Olbrysh, Luke Houston and Quentin Cummings; great-granddaughter, Emilynn Olbrysh; nephews, Jack Robertson and Corey Robertson; niece, Stacy Bains; as well as numerous extended family and dear friends.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 25 at Clark Gardens in Mineral Wells (Clarkgardens.org, 567 Maddux Road in Weatherford). Those in attendance will have an opportunity to share their memories of Dannie.
