Peggy will never be forgotten because she gave us so much to remember. Peggy taught us that family is everything – you are never alone and it will last long after she’s gone; a smile and a hug matter; a good book is something to treasure; take time to feed the geese; flowers are worth planting and waiting for because they are God’s decorations; the road to Oklahoma leads to fun and sometimes treasures; appreciate what you have and be grateful; dogs will always make you happy, especially Harley; and your grandchildren will be the jewels in your crown of life.
Peggy loved Newcastle and remembered many days at the laundrymat with Cotton’s oilfield clothes, days at the school for all events, the Ice House, Bailey’s General Store, The Allen’s and Clayborn’s filling stations, all of her friends dating back to Newcastle High School and most of all, The First Baptist Church. Peggy was proud the day her children were baptized there, she held strong to the Word of God she heard there and lived by it during all seasons and she loved to sing in the choir.
We know that God is saying: “Well done, my good and faithful servant,” and Heaven is a little better with this angel there.

Linda Carrico

Linda was raised on the farm in Freedom, Okla., and was proud to be a Freedom Eagle. Upon graduation with the class of 1968, Linda, wearing #14, held and still holds the record for the most points scored in a basketball game.
After high school, Linda attended NWOSU. Though she never completed a degree, the work ethic she learned on the farm earned respect from many who worked alongside her, from Ron Jessup’s Service Station, to Panhandle Eastern Pipeline, to her service to families through home healthcare for the elderly. Apart from this hard work, she took the most pride and joy in raising her two daughters, Shannon Deanne and Sammi Marie.
Linda’s love for people, life and sports carried her from Alva to Texas, where she followed her daughters, and most recently back to Alva, because she always considered Freedom her home.
If Linda could speak today, she would say that her greatest accomplishment was giving her life to Jesus at church camp with her best friend Nancy (Craig) Glennie. She was baptized in the First Christian Church of Freedom, attended Oak Street Baptist Church of Graham, and her current church home is Hopeton Church.
On this day, Linda rejoices in Heaven with her parents, grandparents and many other precious friends and family.
She awaits the arrival of her two daughters, Shannon Deanne, her fiance, Wade Althouse, and children, Tegan and Isaac, her daughter Sammi Marie and husband, Rob, her big brother, Chuck and wife Luty, her baby sister, Earlene, and husband, Matt, and many other family and those she considered family.
