Larry Mac Wilton, 32, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018.  A Graveside funeral will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 at Loving Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Larry was born Feb. 5, 1986 in Graham.  He graduated from Graham High School and was a self-employed mechanic.

Survivors include; daughters, Alexis Wilton of Jermyn and Rayven Skidmore of Vernon;  mother, Teresa Daniels and step-father Juan Hernandez of Jermyn; father, George Keith Wilton, Jr. “Boonie” of Graham; sisters, Michell Wages and husband E.J. of Graham, Vanessa Wilton of Graham; Cindy Balentine and husband Cecil of Jermyn, Rebecca Dunlap-Kline of Missouri, and Jonna Kay Wilton of Graham; grandparents, Vivian Wilton of Loving, Linda Daniels of Graham and William and Tammie Daniels of Graham.

Scott Freeman, 51, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018 in Graham.  Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Medlan Chapel Cemetery in Young County under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Scott was born Feb. 19, 1967 in Graham.  He graduated from Graham High School and was a welder.  Scott was a member of Salem Crestview United Methodist Church.  He aspired to strengthen his faith in God and his understanding of the gospel.  He spent much of his free time studying scripture and growing as a Christian.  He was an avid hunter, angler, and outdoorsman and had an affinity for the family farm, where he enjoyed spending much of his time.
Survivors include: son, Spenser Scott Freeman and wife Erin; granddaughter, Piper Freeman due in February; mother, Barbara Hunnewell of Graham; father, Archie Freeman of Graham; fiancé, Irene Green of Graham.
He was preceded in death by sister, Tammie Freeman.

Linda Waggoner Armstrong

Linda Waggoner Armstrong, 76, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, in Graham. Visitation was Sunday from 1 p.m. till service time at First Baptist Church Spur. A Graveside funeral was held Sunday, Dec. 2, at Spur Memorial Cemetery in Spur. Arrangements were under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Linda was born Oct. 28, 1942 in Jayton, to the late J.W. and Margaret Catherine (Wharton) Waggoner. She attended West Texas State University where she received her teaching degree. She married Eddie Armstrong, Feb. 10, 1973 in Alpine. Linda was an elementary school music teacher in Spur for many years. She moved to Graham in 1998 from Odessa. Linda was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include; husband, Eddie Armstrong of Graham; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Linda was preceded in death by a sister, Marlene Cumbie.

Susan Schimelpfenig Dixon

Susan Schimelpfenig Dixon, 89, passed away Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 in Wichita Falls. Graveside service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 10:30 a.m. in Oak Grove Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Susan was born Nov. 2, 1929 in Plano to Will and Effie (Davis) Schimelpfenig. She grew up in Plano and started taking piano lessons in the second grade and climbing trees even earlier. She loved the outdoors and all her happy times with a neighborhood of friends. She graduated from the University of North Texas School of Music after majoring in Music Education. After teaching in Dallas Public School for a year, she married Melvin L. Dixon on July 5, 1952. They moved to Pecos where she taught second grade for three years. Then they moved to Graham and she taught first grade. After Graham, they moved to Bogota, Columbia where their children were born. When Don was a baby they were transferred to Eastern Venezuela. They loved their life in South America, the USA was home. After a few years in Graham, Mel was asked to return to Ecuador, where they lived in Quito for a year. Then they made their permanent home in Graham in 1986. Susan was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a Stephen Minister, member of United Methodist Women and the Samaritans.

Survivors include: daughter, Ann Boydston and husband, Steve of Graham; son, Don Dixon and wife, Jackie of Roanoke; grandchildren, Matthew Boydston, Leah Boydston, Jade Kowalkowski, Jennifer Dixon, and Nolan Dixon.

Stephen Todd Eddleman

Stephen Todd Eddleman known as Todd was born March 14, 1970 to Stephen Dale Eddleman and Martha Jean Allison. He grew up in Olney with his younger sister Allison Beth Eddleman. He graduated from Olney High School in 1988 followed by a year at Tartleton University.

In 1993, Todd married Kimberly Kay Eddleman in Las Vegas, Nev. Nov. 1, they celebrated their 25th anniversary in Maui, Hawaii. Together they have two daughters Stephanie Brooke Eddleman and Kaylee Nicole Eddleman.

For 22 years he was an Operations Manager at Metalwest. When not at work he preferred to be at home with his family watching sports especially football or being at the deer lease in Madisonville.

Todd was a good-hearted person who loved helping others. He could be stern when the occasion arose, but took pride in being fair. Most saw him as warm and easy to talk to. Many people looked up to him and followed the example he set with his actions. His loved ones will remember him for his unconditional love, strength, sincerity, wisdom, dependability and his sense of humor.

Todd is survived by his wife Kimberly Kay Eddleman of Frisco; his two daughters Stephanie Brooke, Eddleman and Kaylee Nicole Eddleman; his father Stephen Dale Eddleman and Step mother Janie Lou Eddleman of Seymour; his mother Martha Jean Eddleman of Newcastle, his sister Allison Beth Eddleman of Newcastle.

Wilson Owen Groves

Wilson Owen Groves went peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 7, 2018 at his home in Graham, surrounded by his loving family.

Owen was born in Graham on March 21, 1937 to the late Woodrow Groves and Wanda Owens Groves Hovland. Owen’s life of faith started early as an active member of the Church of Christ in Fort Worth where he sang in the boy’s choir. Most currently, Owen was a member of the Country Road Fellowship Church of Graham. In addition to his faith in God, Owen served as an Air Force pilot in the Korean War. He was a very patriotic man that loved his country.

As a profession, the Lord gifted Owen with healing hands, as well as the desire to serve and help people. Upon returning to Graham in 1978, he opened his office for reflexology, professional and sports massage. He always loved serving the people of Graham and surrounding areas. As an avid caregiver, he wanted to continue serving after death by donating his body to science.

As the family states, they have lost a great man, husband, father, “Paw-Paw,” great grandpa, and friend. Because of Owens’s faith in the Lord, the family finds strength in knowing they will meet him again in Heaven one day.

Owen was preceded in death by his father Woodrow Groves, mother Wanda Hovland (Owens), step father Eddie Hovland, and brother Joe Groves Sr.

Owen is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sandy Groves of Graham; daughter Trena Allen and husband Bobby of Graham; his son Heath Groves and wife Jennifer of Brock.; his four grandchildren, Eric Allen and wife Micah, Erin Allen-Freeman and husband Spenser, Tyler Groves, and Clayton Groves; his three great-grandchildren Jaxon, Harper, and Piper (due in February); two nephews Joe Groves, Jr. and Matt Groves. Additionally, Owen is survived by many extended family members and friends.

There will be a celebration of life in honor of Owen at the Country Road Fellowship Church (8088 Hwy 16 South) of Graham on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 11 a.m. All are welcome to attend.

Florence Juanell (Baird) Howard

Still living life to the fullest until the end, Florence Juanell (Baird) Howard (Nana Nell) passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 14, at the First Baptist Church in Henrietta. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Henrietta under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.

She was born in 1931, near Mobitee. Most of her childhood was spent in Graham. Shortly after high school graduation, she married “Red” Martin. They had two children: Terry and Laneise. After moving to Graham in 1962, Juanell began working as a nurse's aide, finding her life’s calling. Soon she earned an LVN degree followed by an RN degree. Paid or not, she offered her compassion and medical skills for the remainder of her life.
While working as hospital charge nurse in Henrietta, Nell married P. V. Howard in 1981. Though P.V.’s son Bob and his wife Cathy were the age of her natural children, she loved them and their family as her own.

Nana Nell was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, sisters-in-law Patsy and Mickey, and son-in-law Tim.

She is survived by her brothers James and Jerry; sister JoAnn and husband Bobby; son Terry and wife Lamona; daughter Laneise; stepson Bob and wife Cathy; nine grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Davis Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m.

M. Louise Street Witkowski

M. Louise Street Witkowski left this world early in the evening on the 12th of December 2018. Louise passed away peacefully at home, in the room directly below the room she was born in 1920. She was surrounded by her son, granddaughter, and two of her very close friends.

Louise lived a very full life. She married Leonard ‘Witt’ Witkowski in 1948. They had two sons, Warren and James. Louise lived in Tucson, Ariz. for the majority of her career teaching at Sunnyside School District. After retiring she returned to Graham. Saying she was active in her community would be an understatement. She was the Director of the Graham Chamber of Commerce from 1987-1990. She acted as Chairperson of the Young County Historical Society in the 1980’s. In 2003 she was named Citizen of the Year. She was also a lifelong member of FUMC Women’s group in both Graham and Tucson. Despite her bad eyes, Louise loved to paint and was a member of the Graham Art Guild. These are just a few examples of the work she did for the community she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, S. Boyd & Mabel Street; her son James Witkowski; her brother Spencer Street Jr.; her nephew Spencer Street III; her sister Marjorie Cummings, as well as many other friends and family.

She is survived by her son Warren, daughter-in-law Jacqueline, her grandchildren Sarah and Steven; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends and family.

Funeral services will be held Monday the 17th of December at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church (700 3rd Street Graham). All are welcome. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Rubanel Partain

Rubanel Partain passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2018 in Tyler. Funeral services were held Monday in Olney under the direction of McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home in Graham.

Mrs. Partain was born Feb. 5, 1922 in Ryan, Okla. She was a graduate of Olney High School and a member of the Eastside Church of Christ in Graham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thell Partain and by a son, Gary Partain.

Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Partain, and Randal Partain and wife Kathleen of Tyler; daughter, Ann Partain of Dallas; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Billy Eugene Gray

Billy Eugene Gray, 81, passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018 in Graham. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 2 p.m. at Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Family visitation will be at Morrison Funeral Home on Tuesday, Dec. 18, at 6:30 p.m.

Billy was born April 28, 1937 in Bryson to the late Eli Lee Gray and Lela Mae (Radican) Gray. He married Ruby Etta Gilmore on June 28, 1958 in Graham. Billy graduated from Graham High School. Billy and Ruby owned and operated Gray’s Boot Shop for 48 years and managed commercial property owned by the family. Billy enjoyed daily visits with his customers and the tenants at the buildings. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He attended Salem-Crestview United Methodist Church as an adult. He was a member of the First Baptist Church as a child where he was baptized.

Survivors include: daughters, Cathy Ribble and husband, Park of Guthrie, Okla., Deborah Deck and husband, Russell of Graham, and Barbara Gray Richards of Watauga; grandchildren, Stacey Curran and husband, Alex of Yukon, Okla.; David Ribble of Yukon, Okla., Lindsay Ribble of Guthrie, Okla., Tyson Deck of Graham, Schuyler Sowell of Graham, Amber Doherty of Watauga, Miranda Sowell of Wichita Falls, Kaitlyn Parker and Garrett Parker, both of Graham; great grandchildren, Beckett Ribble, Bryce Ribble, Luke Curran, and Noah Doherty.

Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby, his daughter, Vicki Parker, brother Curtis Gray, and great granddaughter, Berkley Ribble.

Richard Allen McKenna, Jr.

Richard Allen McKenna, Jr., 66, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018 in Wichita Falls. Before his passing he had been very sick, had many strokes and complications. Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 22, at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Richard was born Aug. 22, 1952 in Denison. He was the only child of Richard and Bessie (Crabtree) McKenna. Richard lived in Spokane, Wash. until 1988, he moved back to Graham to live with his parents. Richard and Yevette had been married 15 years before his passing. Richard had met Yevette in Graham in 2000. Richard and Yevette were friends until December of 2002, a marriage that was made in heaven, Dec. 31, 2002 Richard and Yevette asked the Lord up above if they were to be together forever. Without each other’s knowledge they both saw the same falling star on the same night at the same time. A sign from up above. Richard asked Yevette for her hand in marriage on Jan. 24, 2003. Richard and Yevette McKenna were secretly married by the justice of the peace on March 10, 2003. Then on Aug. 16, 2003 they were publicly married. Richard wanted his wife to have a true wedding and have all his family and friends around. The Lord has blessed this marriage on that day and all the days to come. This marriage was truly made from heaven and the couple were always happy and getting along. They never had fights or arguments, they loved each other so very much. Richard spent 12 years in the United States Air Force and went to Ranger College for two years. He got a job in 1995 with GMI, worked there for about 16 years until his fourth stroke then he was retired. He and his wife worked for Karen Choate for seven years doing janitorial. No matter where life took them in the last seven years of Richard’s life his wife Yevette was always by his side and by his side to his last breathe.

Survivors include: his wife of 15 years, Yevette McKenna of Graham, two children from two previous marriages, son, Richard Allen McKenna III of Spokane, Wash., grandson, Richard Allen McKenna IV of Spokane, Wash. and daughter, Jenny McKenna of Spokane, Wash., daughter, Amber Lynn Hanson of Graham, mother, Bessie McKenna of Graham, grandsons, Matthew Manley, Christopher Manley, Danial Austin Hanson, and Dominic Hanson all of Graham, aunts, Patsy Moody of Denison and Bonnie Loggins of Dallas, uncle, Ronnie Crabtree of Denison, cousins, Carolyn Rister, Chasity Peebles, Skylar Peebles, Daniel Blake Roach and many other cousins.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, his father, and three uncles.

Visitation will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Theresa "MeeMaw" Riley, 69, passed away Monday, Dec. 17, 2018 in Fort Worth. Funeral is scheduled 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Theresa was born May 14, 1949 in Henrietta to the late Samuel M. Hinson and Bernice Marie (Byers) Lovell. She married Jimmy R. Riley in 1979 and lived in Graham until she moved to Weatherford in 1990. She was preceded in death by Jimmy on May 9, 2015. Theresa was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Weatherford and a Homemaker. Theresa loved her family, friends and all creatures big and small.

Survivors include; sons, Brent Lovern and wife Mary Jane of Fort Worth, Clent Lovern and Mary Carole Street of Fort Worth, and Sam Lovern of Enid, Okla.; grandchildren, Maxx Lovern and wife Kaitlin, Ashley and Roxanne Lovern, Bethany Perkins and husband Cody, Lilly Lovern, and Alex Lovern; great grandchildren, Cason Perkins, Carter Perkins, and Lincoln Lovern; sister, Jody Lovell and husband Allen of Graham; brothers, Stacy Lovell and wife Lisa of Graham and Tommy Lovell of Graham.

Theresa was preceded in death by a brother, Monty Hinson in 2001.

Family Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home.

David J. Akers, 67, passed away in Graham on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018. A memorial service will be held to honor David's life on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church. David’s grandchildren have requested attendees to wear Cowboys, Longhorns, or Graham Steers attire to the service to honor his love for sports.  

He was born on Oct. 2, 1951 to Georgia Joyce Harrison and Billy Fred Akers. David was very giving in his life, and continued to give in death, as he donated his body and brain to research on Alzheimer's Disease. David married Debra Ann Carson in Graham on Nov. 15, 1991. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, NRA, Graham Booster Club, Rotary Club, and Petroleum Landman Association. David was a big fan of sports, he especially loved the Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Longhorns, and of course, the Graham Steers. David loved his family dearly and was a wonderful husband and loving Papaw.

David is survived by his wife, Debbie Akers of Graham; mother, Joyce Akersof Graham; daughters; Kelli Huckobey and companion Ricky Beckham of Graham, Michele Akers Saldivar of Alice, and Jordan Fuller of Wichita Falls, sons; Danny Huckobey and wife, Marci of Graham, and Scott Elliott and companion, Heather O'neal of Beeville, grandchildren; Kennedy Huckobey, John Huckobey, Joseph Huckobey, Emily Odom, Carson Huckobey, Dylan Elliott, Lila Brehms, Grayson Brehms, Megan Saldivar, Xavier Saldivar, Jersey O'neal, and Chase O'neal, and Sisters; Lissa Akers of Benbrook, and Suzette Akers of Denton.

David was preceded in death by his Father, Billy Fred Akers, Grandparents, James Akers and Alma McCluskey Akers, and Richard and Blanche Harrison, a brother, Dickie Bell, and an aunt, Shirley Hall Gibbons.

The family has asked that memorial gifts be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Karon Marie Scitern

Karon Marie Scitern, 57, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018 in Wichita Falls. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2018 in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel.

Karon was born Jan. 29, 1961 in Dothan, Ala. to Eileen Marie (Youngblood) Farrar and the late Aaron Crews Farrar. She married David Scitern Dec. 31, 1982 in Graham. She was a Homemaker and a member of Newcastle Church of Christ.

She had the biggest and best heart. She always put everyone ahead of herself, even at the worst moments in her life, she was worried about everyone else. She was always full of life and filled our lives with love. She loved her family, friends, fast cars, rock n roll, and had a soft spot for any kind of animal. She would “find” dogs and cats while walking home from school and say they followed her home and try to keep them. She just wanted to share her love. She was the best mom and wife a person could pray for. She will truly and forever be loved and missed. And there will be a huge hole left that can never be filled. But she showed us all how to be strong, especially in the hardest of times.

Survivors include; husband, David Scitern of Graham; daughter, Jayme Herpeche and husband Adam of Graham; son, Tyler Scitern of Graham; mother, Eileen Farrar of Graham; grandchildren, Steven Herpeche and Emma Herpeche; sisters, Mona Reagan of Hollis, Okla. and Janine Hancock of Cabot, Ark.; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Karon was preceded in death by a grandson.

Talbot Loyd Manning, 51, passed away Monday, Dec. 17, 2018 in Fort Worth. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 26, at 2 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel.

Talbot was born April 3, 1967 in Gorman to Ida May McCommas and the late Jimmy Wayne Brim. He was a Truck Driver.

Survivors include: mother, Ida McCommas of Bryson; nieces and nephews, Makoa Jennings, Toetu Jennings, Beka Jennings, Jesse Brown, Christian Brown, and Tala Jennings; sisters, Pamela Brown of Norcoss, Georgia and Laverne Jennings-Phillips of Aledo.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Joe Manning.

Madra J. (Ryan) Marrs, 86, passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018 in Wichita Falls. Funeral service is scheduled 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, in Morrison Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Madra was born May 20, 1932 in Cottle County, Texas to the late Henry and Carrie Belle (Rea) Ryan. She married Furman M. Marrs, Jr., Nov. 2, 1962 in Ralls. He preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 2013. She moved to Graham in 1966 from Cottle County. Madra was a member of First United Methodist Church Graham and a self-employed baby sitter.

Survivors include; daughter, Susan Marrs of Wichita Falls; son, James Marrs and wife Heather of Wichita Falls; grandchildren, Tabatha Miller, Steven Marrs, Robert Marrs, and Christopher Marrs; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Madra was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Marrs, daughter-in-law Deborah Marrs, granddaughter, Melissa Marrs, three sisters and two brothers.

Shirley Mae Hawkins

Shirley Mae Hawkins passed away on Dec. 24 at age 72 in Graham, surrounded by her loving family.

Shirley was born in Artesia, New Mexico on July 31, 1946. She moved to Mangum, Oklahoma with her family as a small child. Mangum is where she met the love of her life, John Louis Hawkins, at the Tastee Freez in June of 1964. They married on Oct. 31, 1964 in Mangum. So eager to marry, they eloped completely unaware of the fact that is was Halloween. They eventually settled in Graham, with their sons, Michael, Danny and J.J.

Shirley successfully ran The Health Food store on the square for many years, earning her the nickname Nana Yogurt from her grandkids. She was an active member of Oak Street Baptist Church where she taught bible study, and loved to sing.

Shirley was preceded in death by her mother, Beulah Graham, her father, Ruben Graham and her brother, Albert Lee Graham.

She is survived by her husband, John L. Hawkins of Graham, son and daughter-in-law Michael and Susan Hawkins of Deming, New Mexico, son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Dana Hawkins of Port Aransas, son and daughter-in-law J. and Erin Hawkins of Corpus Christi, and brother Chuck Graham, sister Billie Stacy, sister Bonnell Mixon and brother-in-law Earl Mixon, all of Graham. She has eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be on Thursday, Dec. 27 from 6 - 8 p.m. at McMill-Satterwhite Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28 at Oak Street Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Alzheimer’s research.

Shirley loved fiddle music, ice cream and her family. She had a wonderful laugh and a beautiful smile. She will be greatly missed.

JoAnn Marie Sinyard (Aunt Dee) was born June 26,1951 in Erie, Pa. She lived in Graham, with her husband of 33 years Robert (Uncle Bobby) Sinyard, Tamara Wages, Kimberley Stoubaugh and many grandchildren.

Through the years Aunt Dee and Uncle Bobby helped care for 32 plus children. Children in need of a meal, a place to stay, some warm clothes, and even just a shoulder to lean on when needed. They impacted the lives of so many and showed so much love. 

JoAnn passed on Dec. 15, 2018 early in the morning at Hamilton Hospital in Olney. after fighting cancer for a year.

The family would like to thank all the staff they were so much help along with Solaris Hospice.

Joann was preceded in death by her parents Genevieve Spano Chaffee and Francis (Jim) Chaffee, and also her Sister-in-law Bonnie Lou Chaffee and Brother-in-law Thomas (Butch) Klemm. Surviving siblings include Shirley Klemm (Vincent Barger), James Chaffee, Donald Chaffee, and Theresa Louise Burger (Dennis). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Royce Shadwick passed away Dec. 22, 2018 in Graham. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home. Interment will be in Pioneer Cemetery.

Mr. Shadwick was born Aug. 17, 1941 in Graham. He had served in the U.S. Army and retired from the City of Graham. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Graham.

Survivors include his wife, Josefine (Geier) Shadwick of Graham; son, James Shadwick and wife Tylen of Florida; daughter, Angela Lowe and husband Jay of Graham; brother, Cloyce Shadwick and wife Lou of Graham; half-brother, Freddie Watt; seven grandchildren, Roanna Ballew, Jenny Lowe, Dean Lowe, Jaicee Mathis, Jessica Wakefield, Tyler Shadwick and Lee Shadwick; 13 great grandchildren.

Roy Lee Herman Pruit, 85, passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018 in South Bend. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 26, at 4 p.m. in the Cowboy Church of Young County. Burial will follow in Newcastle Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Roy was born Feb. 15, 1933 in Portales, New Mexico to Cecil Doyle and Ivy (Payne) Pruit. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruthie Pruit in 1997. Roy was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a self employed mechanic. He was also a volunteer fireman for Young County and Archer County.
Survivors include: daughters, Sheila Moseley of South Bend, Lisa Pruit of Glen Rose, Brenda Pruit of South Bend, and Glenda Pruit of Newcastle; sons, Roy A. Pruit and wife, Misty of Graham and Wendell Pruit and wife, Annetta of Graham; sisters, Dorothy Marie Garza, Flora Luava Shadwick, and Florance June Dickens; brothers, Troy Leon Thompson Pruit and James Rutherford Pruit; 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers.
