Louis Glen Armstrong

Louis Glen Armstrong, 89, of Hurst, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, after a brief struggle with pneumonia.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday Jan. 24, at 1:30 p.m. at Life Fellowship Church in Hurst, with Pastor Darryl Crawford and Rev. Gale Burnett officiating. Interment will take place at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington.
Visitation will be held Monday, Jan. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Forest Ridge Funeral Home in Hurst,
Louis was born in Quinlan on Dec. 15, 1927, the son of P.J. and Willie Carpenter Armstrong, both deceased. Louis met his wife Bernice in Graham, and they were married for 71 years, until she passed away Oct. 11, 2009.
He proudly served in the Army as part of the Occupational Forces in Japan in 1946 and was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant.
Louis was a very successful business owner and after retirement, he enjoyed traveling, playing golf and a good game of dominos.
He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Veal of Weatherford; son, Jim Armstrong and wife, Rhonda of Hurst; daughters, Karen and husband Laney Holder of Watauga, and Glenda and husband Will Taylor of Fort Worth; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Louis was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brothers, Billy J. Armstrong and Gene Armstrong; and sister, Vera Armstrong.

Eunice Lingnau Bodling, 83 of Graham, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, in Wichita Falls.
Services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, with Rev. Keith Kubitz officiating. Interment will be held at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Eunice was born Saturday, April 29, 1933 in Vernon; she was the daughter of the late Arthur Lingnau and the late Anna Schwarz Lingnau.
She married Theodor "Ted" Bodling on Aug. 16, 1953 in Vernon. He preceded her in death May 3, 2002.
She moved back to Vernon in 1953 from Paducah. She worked for Kwik Klean Korner Laundry. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and L.W.M.L. at the church and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her sons, James Bodling and wife Cheryl of Wichita Falls, and John Bodling and wife Roberta of Vernon; daughters, Karen Brooks and husband Dale of Graham, and Janise Hooper and husband Orren of New Deal; brother, Edward Lee Lingnau of Plainview; brother-in-law, August Bodling of Vernon; five grandchildren, Nathan Hooper and wife Julie, Scott Brooks and wife Harmoni, Shane Brooks, Jerrid Bodling, and Amber Piper and husband Brent; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sullivan Funeral Home,1801 Houston St. in Vernon.
Memorials can be made to Zion Lutheran Church or Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Clifford Elmer Green, 78, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017. Memorial services will be held Sunday, Jan. 29, at 2 p.m. at the Cowboy Church Gathering in Graham.
Clifford was born July 6, 1938 in Haskell, to the late Leonard and Frances Green.
Survivors include his daughters, Elaina Wilson of Florida, and Katrina Emerson of Texas; son, Clifford Ray Green of Graham; stepsons, Bobby Mager of Graham and Donald Mager of Oklahoma; stepdaughter, Marilyn Mager; sisters, Artie Moss of Graham, Joann Goodlett of Benbrook, Lena Spivey of Alvarado, and Frankie Denhart of Arlington; brother, Alton Green of South Carolina; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews spread from Texas to Tennessee to Florida.
Clifford was preceded in death by his brothers, Buddy Green, Don Green and James Green; and also by Earline Mager, his partner in life for more than 20 years.
He was loved very deeply, highly respected and admired as an amazing child of God, son, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed. We love you and will see you again. Rest in peace, sweet angel.

Bobby Lane “Bosco” Hamilton passed away Jan. 21, 2017 in Wichita Falls. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at the Oasis of Grace Church in Graham. McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home is charge of arrangements.
Bosco was born Jan. 22, 1953 in Vernon, and lived in Graham most of his life. He was a Young County Constable for several years and was co-owner of Hamilton Custom Service in Graham. He also worked for Renzenberger in several different states.
Survivors include his daughter, Emily Johnson and husband, Michael; three sons, Bo Hamilton and wife, Cassandra, Colby Hamilton and fiancee, Tayler, and Wesley Hart; 13 grandchildren, Abigail, Emma, Bailey, Jackson and Reed Logan, Austin, Isabelle, Anson and Ella Johnson, Jesslin, Jacob, Ryder and Izzy Hamilton; sister, Susie Hamilton Carpenter; brother, Joey Parker; special friend, Sharon Hill; and faithful dog, Tanner.

Jerry Ann Mitchell Noah, 81, of Graham, passed away Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017 in Graham. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 10 a.m. in Eastside Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Jerry Ann was born Jan. 9, 1936 in Ida, La., to the late Eldridge Eugene and Thelma Marvin (Wilson) Dauphin. She married James Henry "Jim" Mitchell on Sept. 1, 1954 in Odessa and he preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 1984. She later married Neal Noah and he preceded her in death in 2009. Jerry Ann was a member of Eastside Church of Christ where she was involved with the church, her community and Meals on Wheels. 
Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Gallaway and husband, Glen of Graham and Kelley Johnson and husband, Mitch of North Richland Hills; sisters, Mary H. Brooks of Atlanta, Texas, Betty L. Berry of Ida, La., Latricia Kennedy and husband, John of Atlanta, Texas, and Ramona G. Halten and husband, Ollie of Orange; brother, Eugene Eldridge Dauphin and wife, Mildred of Natchez, Miss.; grandchildren, Rachel Dannhaus and husband, Brandon of Bryan, Eric Stephens of Graham, Preston Garvin and wife, Stephanie of Little Rock, Ark., Kendall Garvin of Fort Worth, Logan Tyler of North Richland Hills and Waylon Johnson of North Richland Hills; great-grandchildren, Kason, Korie, Kyler, Hagen, Phoenix and Samantha; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sophia Jean Mathis passed away Jan. 23, 2017, at her home near Graham. A graveside service will be held at noon Friday, Jan.27, at the Newcastle Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home.
Sophia was born July 5, 1953 in Brownsville, Pennsylvania. She was a member of the Ladies of 798 and was a member of the Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Mike Mathis of Graham; mother, Emily Olesh of Asheville, N.C.; brother, William Connors of Sarasota, Fla.; sister, Lois Brank of Asheville, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gene Connors and by two brothers, Eugene and Edward Connors.

Bunnye Baldwin

Bunnye Baldwin, 72, of Friendswood, passed away peacefully at her home Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, after a years-long battle with COPD and cancer.
She is survived by her husband, Roland Chris Baldwin; daughters, Crystye and Karrye, and son-in-law Ty; sisters. Connye Hamlin and Tommye Lyles; and older brother Dayne Miller.
Bunnye was born in Graham on Feb. 10, 1944. She was the daughter of Vennie Brannon and Tom Miller. Bunnye attended the University of Texas in Austin, where she met her husband, and moved with him to the Houston area in order to be close to his work with IBM and NASA.
While raising two girls, Bunnye went back and finished her bachelor's degree, graduating from the University of Houston. Bunnye dedicated her life to nurturing and growth, through her dedication to her family, numerous volunteer projects and her beautiful garden.
She taught Sunday School at Friendswood United Methodist Church for more than 40 years. She was also a proud member of the Heritage Gardeners, the Houston Federation of Garden Clubs, and the Friendswood Historical Society, where she was instrumental in the restoration of the 1902 Perry Home.
She believed that the greatest gift one could give was to work hard and help something bloom, whether it was a child, an animal or one of her gorgeous plants. It is fitting that even at the end of her life, she was more worried about her loved ones than herself.
Her dedication, kindness, and easy laugh will be greatly missed by her family and friends. At Bunnye's request, there will be a memorial service only, held at a later date in order to allow her husband to recover from a recent surgery. The family asks that in lieu of condolences, you honor Bunnye's memory by planting something and helping it grow.

Benny R. Stapp, 81, of Greenville passed away Jan. 25, 2017 at Briarcliff Health Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at Highland Terrace Baptist Church under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Royce Litchfield and Rev. Larry Jordan will officiate. Interment will follow at Wieland Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the church until service time.
Born Jan. 2, 1936 in Iowa Park, Benny was the son of Hugh Clifton Stapp and Nina (Musgrave) Stapp. On Dec. 23, 1956, he married Rolene Barnett in Graham. He worked in agriculture research for the USDA.
Stapp was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church and worked as a volunteer builder for the Texas Baptist Men, of which he was a member.
His survivors include his wife, Rolene of Greenville; sons, Craig Stapp and wife Terri, Mark Stapp and wife Olivia, and Kyle Stapp, all of Greenville; sisters, Neta Lackey and husband Junior of Olney, Joyce Gregg and husband Dr. Alvin Gregg of Wichita, Kan. and Gaye Moore and husband Stephen of Greenville; grandchildren, Dustin Stapp of Phoenix, Ariz. and Greysen, Amy and Marshall Stapp, all of Greenville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Highland Terrace Baptist Church Scholarship Fund, 3939 Joe Ramsey Blvd., Greenville, TX 75402.
Pallbearers will be Craig Stapp, Mark Stapp, Kyle Stapp, Dustin Stapp, Greysen Stapp and Marshall Stapp.

Kensy Parker, 27, passed away Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017 in Graham.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church Graham.

Kensy was born July 20, 1989 in Graham, to Joey Parker and the late Tammy Davidson.
He graduated from Graham High School and attended Austin Community College.
Kensy was a self employed carpenter and construction worker.
Survivors include his sisters, Kelsy Ehmann and husband Andrew of Fort Worth and Katlyn Davidson of Graham; grandmothers, Shirley Hodges of Graham and Linda Kinsey of Olney; also surviving are several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Joey Parker, 61, passed away Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017 in Graham. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Graham. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Joey was born Jan. 8, 1956 in Fort Worth, to Shirley Hodges and the late Joseph Edward Parker II. Joey was preceded in death by his father Frank Hodges, who raised him.
Joey graduated from Graham High School and attended Cisco Junior College. He was a retired police officer for the City of Graham and currently employed by the Young County Sheriff’s Office.
Survivors include his daughters, Kelsy Ehmann and husband Andrew of Fort Worth, and Katlyn Davidson of Graham; mother, Shirley Hodges of Graham; sisters, Pam Minnick and husband John of Wichita Falls, Ginnie Wagner and husband Adam of Dallas, Fran Askew and husband Steve of Mansfield, and Dr. Pam Tietze of Oklahoma City; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Young County Sheriff’s Office.

Anna Joyce Owens, 87, passed away Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017 in Decatur. Graveside will be held Wednesday, Febr. 1, at 3 p.m. in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Anna was born April 29, 1929 in Knox County to the late Ernest Hughes and Mary Magdalene Gillentine Hughes. She married D.L. Owens and he preceded her in death in 1977.
She was an office clerk for Young County Farm Bureau and a member of First Baptist Church. Anna loved country music and performing at local events with her friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Eileen Standridge and husband, Ed of Decatur; granddaughter, Sonya Holloway and husband, Bobby of Decatur; great-grandchildren, Landree Lee Holloway and Robert Lee Holloway IV. Also surviving Tommy Slauson of Graham and several other close relatives.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Richard Allen Easter

Richard Allen Easter was born Feb. 3, 1942 in Graham, to Clifford Thurman and Betty Lorene Skipper Easter. He married Audra B. Evans in Jack County on Aug. 3, 1958. Richard worked at Fort Richardson State Park for many years, serving in many capacities, and was member of Jermyn Baptist Church. He passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017, at the age of 74.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, and two brothers, Perry Easter and Jerry Easter.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at Coker Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Winn Hill Cemetery.
Visitation was held 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Coker Funeral Home.
He is survived today by his wife, Audra; his mother, Lorene Easter; son, Ricky Easter and wife Julie; daughter, Audrey Kay Huston and husband Michael; sister, Nancy Armstrong; sisters-in-law, Ronda Easter and Betty Easter; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Donna Laurie Kanaporius, 59, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017.
Donna was born July 25, 1957 in Graham, to Don and Patsy Snow. She was a retired LVN, a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Donna kept the Lord close to her heart and regularly attended Saint Anne’s Anglican Church. She enjoyed new projects, taking care of people, cooking, sewing, painting and quilting. She touched many families and will be missed by those blessed to have known her.
Donna is survived by her husband of 28 years, Algirdas John Kanaporius; father, Don Snow; mother, Patsy Kemp Snow; stepmother, Marcia Snow; daughters, Candy Ann D’Onofrio and husband, Jason, and Jessica Dawn McDonald, and husband, Ryan; son, Sammy Wayne Edwards Jr., and wife, Andee; sisters, Karen Aleman, Sue Jane Rich, Jennifer Smith and Kaylea Snow; brother, Jason Snow; granddaughters, Lauren Daily and Alexandra Edwards; and grandsons, Peyton D’Onofrio, Joseph Daily, Samuel Edwards III and Andrew McDonald.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in Weatherford. Father Roger G. Grist will officiate.

Donald was born Nov. 11, 1934 in Montague County, to the late Furney Thomas and Edith Valda Norman Snow. He married Marcia Price on Sept. 4, 1990 in Graham. Donald was owner and operator of Jet Log, Inc. He was a member of the Cowboy Church Gatherin'. 
Survivors include; his wife, Marcia Snow of Graham; daughters, Karen Aleman of Florida, Sue Rich of Weatherford, Jennifer Smith of Weatherford, and Kaylea Snow of Fort Worth; son, Jason Snow of Graham; stepdaughter, Amy Griggs of Sulphur Springs; two sisters, Peggy Snow of Loving, and  Linda Crayton and husband, Daniel of Loving; brother, Tom Snow of Troy; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Donald was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Kanaporius; brothers, Ray Snow, Bud Snow and Haven Snow; and sister, Patsy Snow Daughtery.

Patsy passed away Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, at home.
She was born Jan. 5, 1936 in Graham, to James Miller and Myrtle Ann (Carson) Ratcliffe. She married Robert Abbott on May 27, 1956. She was great a volleyball player in her younger years and a huge fan when her daughters played the sport. She loved shopping, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. Before her retirement, Patsy was a bookkeeper for the city of Chico.
She leaves behind her husband, Robert Abbott; son, Robert Abbott; daughters, Susan McCann and husband, Carl, and Laura McCain and husband, Rick; brother, John Ratcliff; sister, Dolly Nunley; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Ray, Roy, Earl, Ernest and Bob, and sisters, Mary Nantz and Marie Rogers.

Mildred Good Pryor, 91, passed away Feb. 7, 2017, at HealthSouth of Wichita Falls.
Graveside services are to be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, with interment at the Archer City Cemetery, under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at Aulds Funeral Home.
Mildred was born June 10, 1925, to Earl and Elizabeth Good. She graduated from Archer City High School and married Freddie William Pryor on Dec. 31, 1945, after he had served in the U.S. Navy.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer, and husband, Dan Stalnaker; son, David, and wife, Tommi Pryor; sister, Irene Fields; grandchildren, Scott Stalnaker, Shelly Vannatta, Justin Stalnaker, Amy Wilkerson and Sarah Justice; numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie William Pryor; one grandchild, Shane Carmen; and two sisters, Helen Johnston and Dorothy Peck.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, TX 76310.

William Duke “Bill” Goray, 92, passed from his earthly home into his heavenly home on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017 in Graham.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Talladega Funeral Home in Talladega, Alabama. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 10, at 2 p.m. in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Talladega. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Talladega.
Pallbearers for this service will be Jim Hazel, Roy Barnes, Talmadge Gaither, Paul Gaither, Ray Studdard, and Harry Gaither.
A memorial service will be held in Graham on Sunday, Feb. 12, at 2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home Chapel.
Bill was born Oct. 19, 1924 in Talladega, Ala., to the late John William and Jessie Mae (Duke) Goray. He married Bertha LaVenia Gaither on Nov. 26, 1946 in Talladega and she preceded him in death on Nov. 18, 2006.
Bill served in the U.S. Army Infantry as a machine gunner during World War II. He was wounded in route to the Battle of the Bulge and received the Purple Heart. Bill was a devout Christian and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Talladega, where he served many years as a deacon and taught the senior men's Sunday school class.
Bill and Bertha moved to Graham in 2000 to be near their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and when his health allowed, Bill attended South Bend Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Debbie Black and husband, Ray of Graham; son, Les Goray and wife, Donna of Graham; grandchildren, Lynn Dooley and husband, Gene, Lisa Black Knightstep and husband, Jimi, Amber Reyes and husband, Oscar, Cody Black and Jared Black; great-grandchildren, Will Miller, Charlie Miller, Scarlett Miller, Kasen Black, Macall Reyes, Hannah Hackler, Brock Reyes, Brady Black and Halle Black, and special friend, Jamie Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruth Waldrop, Nannie Gaither and Leatrice Goray.

Dewey Wayne Walters, 76, passed from his earthly home into his heavenly home on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017 in Wichita Falls, surrounded by loved ones.
Dewey was married to Jimmie Lynn Stevens and they were together for 26 years. Dewey never met a stranger and he really loved life.
Dewey retired from Lone Star Gas in 1991.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Early and Inez Walters; his brother, Kenneth Walters; and sisters, Margaret Thomas, Doris Walters and Angela Honeycutt.
He is survived by his sisters, Earline Stevens of Wichita Falls, Yvonne Young of Olney and Margie Hendley of Humble; brother, Robert Walters of Arlington; two sons, Dewey Wayne Walters Jr. and Kenneth Dale Walters; stepson, Scott Stevens; daughter-in-law, Dennise Stevens; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services are pending at this time. He will be dearly missed.

Inda Jane Rice Fletcher, 84, passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017 at her home in Graham. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, at Restland Cemetery in Olney, with Chad Edgington, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
Inda Jane was born Jan. 5, 1933 in Olney, to the late W.C. and Bernice (Benson) Rice. She graduated from Olney High School in 1950, where she was a member of the Cubettes, the High School Band, and the Olney Boots and Saddle Club.
She married James Wesley Fletcher on Aug. 20, 1953 in Fort Worth. He preceded her in death on Sept. 23, 1992. She loved crocheting and crafts as well as painting and fishing. She moved to Graham in 1998 from Hurst, Texas.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Gaylon Wilson of Possum Kingdom Lake; son and daughter-in-law, Kelly Ray and Jo Fletcher of Denton; three grandchildren, Candice Eddington of Krum, Jennifer Gilbert of Euless, and Kris Fletcher of Fort Worth, and six great-grandchildren.
The family received visitors Sunday, Feb. 12, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Lunn Funeral Home.
