Victor N. Bailey

Victor N. Bailey, 83, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 in Graham. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 12, at 11 a.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Victor was born Oct. 12, 1933 in Eau Clair, Wisc., to the late Norman Victor and Susie F. (Card) Bailey. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Graham Regional Medical Center as manager of support services. Victor married Donna Anderson Matkin on Feb. 22, 2002, in Graham.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Bailey of Graham; son, Victor N. Bailey Jr. and wife, Linda, of Harlam, Ga.; granddaughter, Amber Hamm and husband, Mark, of Graham; great-grandsons, Jameson and Keller Hamm, both of Graham; brother, Fred Bailey and wife, Helen, of Pearland; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his stepchildren, Carol and Jimmy Roberts, and brothers, Bill and Richard Bailey.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or Humane Society of Young County.

Pat Barnett, 72, passed away at her home in Graham on Sunday, April 9, 2017. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, April 13, at Graham Church of God. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Pat was born July 15, 1944 in Graham, to the late James Franklin Emerson and Davie Cleo (Reddell) Emerson. She married Danny Barnett on June 29, 1963 in Graham. Pat was a homemaker and a member of Graham Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Danny Barnett of Graham; sons, Dawayne Barnett and wife, Stacy, of Graham, and Stephen Barnett and wife, Michelle, of Granbury; four grandchildren, Erika James and husband, Jordan, Bradley Barnett and wife, Brittany, Kyle Barnett, and Hailey Byrd; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Wade of Graham.
Pat was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Emerson.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home.

Melissa Dianne Crutchley was born Feb. 20, 1968, in Glen Dale, W. Va., to Gary Grant and Betty Sue Hartzell Ernest. She died Wednesday, April 5, 2017, in Tulsa, Okla., at the age of 49 years.
Melissa completed her secondary education in Breckenridge, and graduated with the Breckenridge High School class of 1986. She continued her education through Executive Secretarial School in Dallas.
Melissa was married Feb. 24, 1990, in Breckenridge, to Keven Jay Crutchley. She had worked with State Farm Insurance Company and later with First Bank of Owasso, but her primary focus was her family. She was a longtime faithful member of the Anglican Church of St. Paul in Owasso, Oklahoma. She was active during her sons’ time in the Owasso High School Band and served with the Owasso Band Patrons. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes such as cross stitching and she was the family home bookkeeper.
Those she leaves behind who hold cherished memories include: her husband, Keven, and two sons, Gary and Gabriel, all of the home; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Sokie Ernest, of Richardson; and father, Gary Ernest, of Owasso.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Sue Ernest
Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April, 9, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service were held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 10, at the Anglican Church of St. Paul/Mowery Chapel, with Father Chris Waters officiating.
Serving as casket bearers were Tim Hartzell, Rob Stevens, Lonnie Terrell, Danny Hill, Doug Ernest and Mike Ernest. Committal service and interment followed at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso.
The family requests memorial contributions be made in Melissa’s memory to the Anglican Church of St. Paul, P.O. Box 1858, Owasso, Okla., 74055. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso, moweryfs.com.

Funeral service for Jon Cristopher Newton, 38, of Leeds, Ala., will be Wednesday, April 12, at 1 p.m. at the Liberty Methodist Church in Hackneyville. Rev. Joey Bentley will officiate. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 11, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home.
Newton passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the University of Alabama Hospital. He was born April 6, 1979 in Graham, to Jon A. Newton and Tresa Gann Martin.
He is survived by his daughter, Emily Ann Newton of Talladega, Ala.; wife, Kristi K. Sullivan of Leeds, Ala.; mother, Tresa Gann Martin of Oxford, Ala.; aunts, Donna Goray (Les), Lynelle Casteel (Larry), Linda Newton and Debbie Black (Ray), all of Graham; brothers, Robert Beck (Amanda) of Duncanville, Ala. and Corey Voss of Hackneyville, Ala.; cousins, Lynn Dooley (Gene) of Flower Mound, April White (Robert) and Melissa Casteel, both of Graham, and Lisa Black (Jimi) of Wichita Falls; and step-dad, Che Martin of Oxford, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jon A. Newton; grandparents, Gil and Flo Newton; grandfather, Vernon H. Gann; and grandmother, Geneva R. Poole.

Jim Wiley, 74, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017 in Graham, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 12, at 2 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Jim was born April 1, 1943 in Grand Prairie, to the late Russell Frelon and Edna Mae (Needham) Wiley. He married the love of his life, Sandy Chambers Wiley, on July 27, 1962. They were blessed with two sons, Jimmy and Gary. They shared 54 wonderful years of marriage.
He was employed by TU Electric for 27 years until his retirement in 1991. After his retirement, they enjoyed RVing and antiquing, traveling most often to the Texas coast and Ruidoso, New Mexico. Jim was a loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather and friend. We will miss his quiet strength, his dry humor, and the constant love he had for his family.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge, and Graham Rifle & Pistol Club.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy Chambers Wiley of Graham; sons, Jimmy Wiley and wife, Donnett, of Loving and Gary Wiley and wife, Kim, of Kalispell, Mont.; grandchildren, Pete and Joshua “Pal” Wiley, both of Loving, and Miranda Wiley, of Rock Springs, Wyo.; grandson, Kris Dangle of Rock Springs, Wyo.; great-grandson, Robbie Wiley of Rock Springs, Wyo.; sisters, Lucille Cullers of Graham and Ann Carr of Newcastle; mother-in-law, Helen Chambers, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Beth Holman.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Graham.

Elettra Reddell Rogers, 47, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017 in Wichita Falls. A graveside funeral will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, April 15, at Veal Creek Cemetery in Stephens County.
Elettra was born Feb. 15, 1970, to John R. Reddell and the late Evonne Gunn Reddell. She was a homemaker and a resident of Wichita Falls. She married Barry Rogers on Feb. 14, 2013 in Wichita Falls. 
Survivors include her husband, Barry Rogers of Wichita Falls; father, John R. Reddell and step-mother, Jo Reddell, of Graham; son, D.J. West of Wichita Falls; several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Elettra was preceded in death by a brother, J.J. Reddell.

Robert Lynn Shanklin, 69, of Millsap passed away April 8, 2017. He was born Feb. 23, 1948 in Dallas, to Artie and Jacle Cannon Shanklin.
Robert was a Kabota salesman and rancher, currently raising Corriente cattle. He was a member at PCCC and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Robert enjoyed hunting, roping and riding horses. He also enjoyed flying and was in the process of getting his aviation license.
His parents, wife, Loretta and niece, Melody Williamson preceded him in death.
Survivors include his dog, Sally; sisters, Sharon Wilson, and Cindy Ware and husband, Logan; nephew, Jeffrey Jay Johnson and wife, Melissa; nieces, Shauna Stransky and husband, Stephen, and Cristel Hopkins and husband, Chad; great-nieces, Savannah Williamson, Destiny Johnson and Kinleigh Portales; great-nephews, Forrest Williamson, Sloan Stransky, Seth Stransky, Cole Portales and Brock Hopkins; and numerous extended family members and friends.
Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel. Funeral services were 11 a.m., Thursday, April 13 at Parker County Cowboy Church. Burial was 2 p.m. Thursday at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

James E. Smith, 83, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017 in Weatherford. Graveside services were held Friday, April 14, at 2 p.m. in Oak Grove Cemetery. Memorial services followed at 3 p.m. at Morningside Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
James was born Sept. 11, 1933 in Snyder, to the late J.R. and Ocie (Beeman) Smith. He married Waunita Austin on July 6, 1967 in New Home. He worked at GMI for 20 years as a supervisor in the coating department. James was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Waunita Smith of Graham; daughters, Roxanne Poe of Azle, Tammy King of Lorenzo and Marion England of Graham; sons, Bruce Smith of Graham, Kent Smith of Crowell and Clifford Smith of Bryson; sisters, Martha McDonald of Ropesville and Donnie Allen of Lubbock; brothers, John Smith of Ropesville and Gerald Smith of Lubbock; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Smith, and a brother, Mickey Smith.

Dorothy June Taylor, 90, retired co-owner of Taylor Chevrolet, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, April 20, 2017 in Corinth.
Her funeral is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport, with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family received friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Rev. Gerre Joiner will officiate.
Dorothy was born Aug. 14, 1926 in Tarrant County, to Newt and Sarah (Gargis) Easley. She was united in marriage to Floyd Tayor on Aug. 3, 1943, in Boyd. Dorothy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Decatur. She was a member of the Eastern Star.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd Taylor; and her brother, Harold Easley.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Dan Taylor of Corinth; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of friends.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.

Margaret Kay Parsons Gallegos, 74, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, April 22, 2017 in Wichita Falls following a short illness. Memorial services will be held Sunday, April 30, at 2 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel.
Kay was born on April 20, 1943 in Graham. Kay was a lifelong resident of Graham, and a member of the First Baptist Church. She graduated from North Texas State University in Denton in 1965 and taught English at Bryson High School for a short time. Most of her career was spent at Graham Magnetics, and she was recently employed by Dr. Cawley of Graham.
Kay is survived by her husband, Seferino Gallegos of Graham; her sister, Martha Parsons Thetford and husband Ron Thetford of Flower Mound, her daughter, Greta Slay of El Centro, Calif.; her son, David Slay of Kankakee, Ill.; stepdaughters, JoAnn Jackson, Rachel Kendall and Evelyn Veheel; stepson, Eloy Gallegos; four nephews, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, George and Margaret Parsons; brothers, John, Paschall and Edwin Parsons; stepson, Ronnie Gallegos, as well as her beloved son, Leslie Allen Slay.
Sef and Kay were married in 1984 and lived happily in Graham in Kay’s childhood home. Kay had a strong love for music and played the piano beautifully. We will cherish our memories of her beautiful smile, her sense of humor and her love for family. She will be missed, but we are assured that she lives on with her Savior in Heaven.

Shahrbanoo Farrah Sharif, 55, passed away Friday, April 21, 2017 in Wichita Falls. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 2 p.m. in Rosemont Cemetery in Wichita Falls, under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Farrah was born Aug. 23, 1961 in Shiraz, Iran, to the late Mohammad Reza Mojarrad and Hajieh Ghorbani. She married Ahmad Shawn Sharif.
Survivors include her husband, Shawn Sharif of Wichita Falls; daughter, Yasamin Sharif of Fort Worth; and sister, Tahereh Mojarrad of California.

Gae Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Beavers

Gae Elizabeth “Beth” Beavers, 49, of Morris, Okla., passed away from this life into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 7, 2017, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She was born April 5, 1968, in Craig, Colo., to Guy and Joan McChesney Edwards.
Beth moved to Texas as a child and graduated from Graham High School as a salutatorian.
She married Bobby Beavers, the love of her life, on May 29, 1998. She was a stay-at-home mother, loving her children. Beth was the picture of the godly woman mentioned in Proverbs 21. Beth and her family moved to the Liberty Morris area after Hurricane Katrina.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby, of the home; her children, Nikki, Toby, Jessi and C.J., all of the home; and her brother, Joe Edwards, of Graham. Beth was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dan Edwards.
A celebration of life memorial will be held Saturday, April 15 at the Liberty Baptist Church in Morris, Oklahoma.

Wilbur Floyd

Wilbur Floyd passed away April 25, 2017 at his home in San Antonio. Masonic graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6, in the cemetery chapel at Idalou, under the direction of McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home of Graham.
Wilbur was born July 27, 1936 in Muleshoe, and was the son of Frank and Velma Floyd. Wilbur graduated from Floydada High School in 1954. He married Iris Harris of Idalou on Feb. 8, 1957.
Wilbur’s early employment took the family through several towns before eventually settling in Wink, from 1972 to 1996. While living in Wink, Wilbur served 12 years as a board member of Wink-Loving School District, was a member of First Baptist Church, served 12-plus years as an adult leader to local youth through Winkler County 4-H activities, was a member of Wink Volunteer Fire Department, a 32nd Degree Mason and past master of Wink Masonic Lodge #1302, past patron of Wink Chapter #937 Order of the Eastern Star, and past president of the Wink Lions Club.
Wilbur retired from Crown Central Pipeline and Koch Industries as a pipeline supervisor in 1996. Together with their children, Wilbur and Iris purchased and operated Lakeshore Marina and RV Park on Possum Kingdom Lake from 1996 to 2006. While living at Possum Kingdom he affiliated with and became an endowed member of Young County Masonic Lodge #485 in Graham. Upon full-time retirement in 2006, Wilbur and Iris moved to San Antonio.
Wilbur is survived by his wife of 60 years, Iris Floyd; his daughter, LaDonna of San Antonio; son Weldon and wife Martha of Graham; four grandchildren and their spouses, Weston and Angie Floyd of Austin, Stacy and Stephen Lindell of San Antonio, Wade and Melissa Floyd of Dumas, and Trevor Duff of San Antonio; four great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Caroline Lindell and Matilyn and Wyatt Floyd; one brother, Don Floyd of Ackerly; sisters, Jerry Harrison of Lubbock, Nell Cox of Andrews and Peggy Cowan of Midland; in-laws, Robert and Mona Harris of Claude, and several nieces and nephews.
The family requests memorials to be made in the name of Wilbur to the Young County Masonic Lodge Scholarship Fund in Graham.

Louis L. “Junior” Goodman, 80, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017 in Graham. His funeral will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11 a.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Louis was born Nov. 15, 1936 in Karnes City, to the late Louis Leafett Goodman Sr. and Tressie Maggie Sinclair Goodman. He married Betty Collier on Jan. 17, 1958 in Abilene. Louis was a self-employed cedar cutter most of his life. He moved to Graham in 1994 from Kerrville.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Goodman of Graham; daughters, Norma Dossey and husband Lonnie and Barbara Goodman, all of Graham; 12 grandchildren and 25 five great-grandchildren.
Louis was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Robertson; three sons, Louis, Jimmy and Steve Goodman; five sisters, Lou Jerri Starks, Tempe Savage, Fannie Lee, Becky Elliott and Gerdie Stewart; three brothers, John, Jim, and Ernest Goodman; and grandsons, Kenneth and Darrell Dean. 
Family visitation was Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home.

Linda Allen Gregg, 75, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017 in Wichita Falls. A graveside funeral will be Saturday, April 28, 2017 at 2 p.m. in Pioneer Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Linda was born Dec. 21, 1941 in Joplin, Mo., to the late Odell Elmer Allen and Gertrude Linda Dillon Allen. She was a resident of Graham most of her life and a member of Cowboy Church of Young County. Linda was a self-employed caregiver in Graham for several years.
Survivors include her husband, Buddy Gregg of Graham; daughter, Ronda Pitcher of Waco; sons, Perry Phillips and wife Leslie of Graham and Chris Joyner of California; sister, Connie Carr and husband Franklin of Graham; brother, Richard Allen and Terry Grisham of Wimberley; six grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; four step-daughters;, Lisa, Joyce, Cynthia and Shelley; and a stepson, Buddy Carl Gregg Jr.
Linda was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Joyner.
Family visitation was Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home.

Gwendola ‘Gwen’ Lamb Reynolds

Gwendola "Gwen" Lamb Reynolds has left this world to join her Lord. From her birth in Flint, Mich. on Oct. 15, 1930, to her peaceful death in Weatherford on April 26, 2017, she has served her family and her church, and worked in the computer lab at Crestview Elementary for 15 years. Gwen lived most of her life in Graham and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Gwen is survived by her sister, Leola Wingfield of Arkadelphia, Ark.; her daughter, Banae Reynolds of Weatherford; and her daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Dave Douglas of Houston.
Gwen was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Reynolds; her infant daughter, Donnice Reynolds; her parents, Tommy and Muriel Lamb; and her sister, Barbara Hunter.
The family would like to thank the staff at Martin Crest Memory Unit in Weatherford for their love and care for our mom in the past few years.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 28, at 2 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow Monday, May 1, at South Fork Cemetery in Gurdon, Ark., under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to Alzheimer's Association or the First Baptist Church.

Cordie Pauline Hamlin Truitt, 83, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017 in Graham. Graveside services will be held Sunday, April 30, at 4 p.m. in Jayton Cemetery in Jayton. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Cordie was born March 31, 1934 in Jayton, to the late John Henry and Edna Pearl (Flemming) Hamlin. She married Curtis Gravlee in 1951 in Clovis, N.M., and he preceded her in death. She married Phillip Truitt in Aztec, N.M. in 1973 and he preceded her in death. Cordie was a rancher and a member of Rainbow Girls and a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include her daughters, Christa fayE Horne of Aztec, N.M. and Cordeva Rose and friend, Terry Stewart, of Graham; stepson, Donnie Truitt of Graham; sister, Ann Oliver of Arlington; grandchildren, Pete Reed, Kaitlin Countryman and husband, Jesse, Cali fayE Smith and husband, Dusty, Cami Lee Rike and husband, Adam, and Cian Hazen and fiance Javier Buendia Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Harmony Rike, Apryl Reed, Cyle Gravlee and Ashlynn Smith.
She was preceded in death by a son, Cal Shoat Gravlee; sister, Nell Aukes; and brothers, George, Carliss and Clint Hamlin.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

 Adell was born May 1, 1924 in Atoka, Okla., to the late James Willis and Vola Sanders Brumley. She was lifetime resident of Young County and a retired beauty operator.
Survivors include her son, Fred Dodd and wife Cindy, of Jean; grandchildren, Jennifer Daehling, Maranda Basey, Cooper Dodd, John Johnson and Jenny Daniels, great-grandchildren, Mason Daehling, Maddox Daehling, Mia Daehling, Brayden Basey, Branson Basey and Pax Daniels. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Thurmond Floyd Elliott, 76, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 in Fort Worth. A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 4, at 4 p.m. in Red Top Cemetery in Young County. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Thurmond was born Dec. 31, 1940 in Graham, to the late Floyd and Natalia (Thigpen) Elliott. He married Kay Ridenour Feb. 29, 1992 in Wichita Falls. Thurmond was a cattle truck driver for many years. He also drove for an oil company and American Freightways. He worked many years in the family business at Longhorn Trailer and Body in Wichita Falls. Thurmond retired from Mike's Westside Rental. He had a great love for his wife, children, and grandchildren.
