Juana Figueroa Villa, 25, passed away Monday, Oct. 3, 2016 in Graham. 
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 7, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the Oasis of Grace Church under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. 
Juana was born June 24, 1991 in Mezquital, Durango, Mexico to Francisco S. and Josie (Diaz) Villa. She worked at Graham Medical Associates as a medical assistant.
 Survivors include her husband, Rubelsi Figueroa of Graham; daughter, Natalie Faith Villa of Graham; sons, Ruben Figueroa Villa and Hezekiha Mundo Villa, both of Graham; mother, Josie Villa of Graham; sisters, Francis Villa Sanchez of Graham and Teresa Marie Villa Samora of Eastland; brothers, Freddy Villa, Billy Jack Villa, John Hernandez and Jose Hernandez, all of Graham, Jose Daniel Villa of Abilene, Francisco Villa Jr. of Eastland and Ricardo Villa of Breckenridge; and grandmother, Evangelina Vargas of Graham.

Patsy Sue Atwood went into the arms of Jesus at her home surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016.
Funeral will be held Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Patsy was born Dec. 28, 1935 in Olney, to the late Warren Heston and Mildred McKinney Whitt. She graduated from Graham High School. Patsy was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class, the Dickens Carolers, and an active member of the church choir.
She married Billy Royce Atwood on July 30, 1955 at Salem Methodist Church. She taught piano lessons and then served as music secretary at First Baptist Church for 28 years. She loved playing the organ and piano at her church when needed.
Her main interests were buying and selling antiques and camping every year in Cloudcroft, N.M. She loved her church and loved her grandchildren.
Survivors include husband of 61 years, Billy Royce Atwood of Jean; son, Kenneth Gene Atwood and friend, Joyce, of Olney; daughter, Cynthia Beth Rush and husband, Charles, of Henderson; brother, Jackie Cole Whitt of Albuquerque, N.M. and sister-in-law, Billye Lou Whitt of Beaumont; grandchildren, Sarah Dotson, Rachel Rush, Emily Rush, Kristi Love, Sam Atwood and Courtney Atwood; and eight great-grandchildren.
Patsy was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry “Mac” Whitt.
Visitation is Monday, Oct. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home.

Funeral service for Jimmie Olda Sims, 92, will be held Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Woodville United Methodist Church with Rev. Admanda Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville. Visitation will be held Friday at the Woodville United Methodist Church from noon until the time of the service.
Sims passed away Oct. 9, 2016 at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple.
Born Sept. 1, 1924 on New York Hill in Thurber, he attended schools in Thurber, Gordon, Strawn, Fort Worth, Palo Pinto, Odessa and Graham. He graduated from Pasadena High School, Pasadena, Texas in 1942.
Upon graduation from high school, he enlisted in theArmy and served from 1942-45 as a private first class during World War II. He was a member of the 331st Medical Group, played trumpet in the Army Band and was the company bugler while serving in the European Theater.
Sims was hired by Humble/Exxon in Crawley, Louis. in 1946 and worked for the company for 40 years. He married Margaret Louise Irvine on Aug. 4, 1952. He worked at Clifton by Sea, Wink, Wickett, Anahuac, Liberty, League City, Cedar Point, Baytown and Gladewater. After retiring in 1987, he moved to Colmesneil. He belonged to the American Legion Post #75 in Mineral Wells.
He is survived by his son, Glenn Sims of Irving; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Bob Selph of Coppell; daughter and son-in-law, Rev. Dr. Rita Sims and Dr. Andrew Williams of Kosse; granddaughter and husband, Tabitha and Harrison South of Dallas; granddaughter, Morgan Selph; grandson, Brandon Selph; and granddaughter, Laura Williams-Sims of Kosse; numerous nieces, nephew and friends. He was preceded in death by Margaret, his wife of nearly 50 years.
Memorials may be made to Woodville United Methodist Church, 508 W. Bluff St., Woodville, TX 75979.

Gladys Martin Geis, 99, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016 in Graham.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 15, at 2 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Eliasville Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Gladys was born Jan. 18, 1917 in Eliasville, to the late Robert Dee and Annie Laura (Kirkland) Poindexter. She married Charles R. Martin and he preceded her in death in 1965. She married Ernest W. Geis on March 9, 1972 in Seymour.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Geis of Graham; son, Mac Martin and wife June of Eliasville; grandchildren, Rodney Martin and wife Robin of Eliasville, Penny Patterson and husband Chris of Eliasville; daughter, Gloria Henderson of Olney; son, Danny Thacker of Jacksboro; four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, six step-grandchildren, eight great-step-grandchildren, four great-great-step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Candice Martin; sisters, Eula Dowdle, Evelyn Chapman, Nita Bishop and Lillian Poindexter; brother, Bob Poindexter; and a son, Ernest Geis Jr.
Visitation was held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Joanne Elizabeth “Jo Beth” Johnson Carter, of Georgetown, died Oct. 12, 2016. She was born Feb. 4, 1941 in Yorktown, but grew up in Graham.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at Gabriel Funeral Chapel and Crematory in Georgetown. A celebration of life takes place Saturday, Oct. 22, at 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Georgetown. Burial follows at IOOF Cemetery in Georgetown.

Brenda Martin passed into her Lord’s arms on Oct. 24, 2016. She was born in Dallas, the daughter of Thomas Kane and Louise Turner Kane.
She married her husband, Richard, on Sept. 11, 1971 in Irving. Brenda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved playing with her grandkids and shopping.
A visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel in Mineral Wells. A funeral service will be held Friday, Oct. 28, at 2 p.m. at the Community Church of Possum Kingdom.
She leaves behind her husband, Richard Martin; children, Erin Dewbre and Wesley Martin and wife, Valerie; grandchildren, Hayden Dewbre and Emma Dewbre; mother, Louise Kane; sister, Sherry Johnson; brother, Gerald Kane; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Kane; and sister, Hazel Mae Stacy.

Marlin Keener

Marlin Keener was found to have died peacefully at his lakeside home on Oct. 26, 2016.
He lived in the area, a graduate of Graham High School, for years. After a stay in the mountains, he moved back home to be closer to his family: his son, Aaron Keener and wife, Calli; grandchildren, Corbin, Brock, Deacon and Autumn; daughter, Carolyn and husband, Russ Rogers; grandchildren, Lyndsay, Andrew and Jacob; and two brothers, Johnny and Dean Keener. 
Marlin was a member of the PK Westside VFD and attended Westlake Chapel, 701 FM 1148, where services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 29. These people are counted among his dearest friends.
The family wishes to thank you for the love and support you showed him by asking donations be sent to the PK Westside VFD, in lieu of flowers.

Carol Lee Robinson

Funeral services for Carol Lee Robinson, formerly of Graham, were held Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the Greenwood Community Church in Greenwood Village, Colorado. Robinson died Oct. 17, 2016, in Centennial, Colo., after a five-year struggle with dementia and accompanying diseases.
Carol Lee Peter was born Jan. 11, 1938, in rural Sherman County, Kansas, to Philip Peter and Fern Johnson Peter. She attended a country school through the eighth grade and graduated in 1955 from Sherman Community High School in Goodland, Kansas.
She attended business college in Denver before returning to her hometown to serve jointly as secretary of the Goodland Chamber of Commerce and as the community's Western Union agent.
She and Roy Robinson were married July 31, 1960, in Goodland, Kan. In 1961, the couple moved to Lamar, Colo. In 1966, they purchased the weekly Ute Pass Courier newspaper in Woodland Park, Colo. Both their children, son Robert and daughter Michelle, began kindergarten and graduated from high school in Woodland Park.
They were active in newspaper publishing in Cripple Creek, Eagle, Westminster and Fort Morgan, Colo., before moving in 1998 to Graham. Mrs. Robinson's husband was publisher of The Graham Leader and vice president of Graham Newspapers, Inc., a subsidiary of MediaNews Group. They returned to Colorado in 2014, when her advancing illness required more family care and assistance. 
Mrs. Robinson was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Graham, where she was active in the High Questor Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her husband, Roy, of Denver; her son, Robert, also of Denver; her daughter, Michelle Koenig, and son-in-law, Mark Koenig, of Centennial; a grandson, Jonathan Kopec, of Centennial; a granddaughter, Nadia Robinson, of Pueblo, Colo.; her brother, Dean Peter, of Westminster, Colo.; two sisters, Bonnie Jones of Westminster, and Kathy Schupp Aurora, Colo.; two aunts and numerous cousins.

Charles Leonard ‘Chuck’ Wages

Charles Leonard “Chuck” Wages, 73, passed away Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016 in Graham. Graveside services will be held Monday, Oct. 31, at 11 a.m. in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Charles was born July 9, 1943 in Garrison, to the late Leonard Otto and Hattie Mae (Townley) Wages. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the VFW Post 8567.
Survivors include his sister, Mary Covey and husband, John of Graham; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
The family will be at the funeral home from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday.

Joan Myrtle Cook, 81, passed away Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016 at Possum Kingdom Lake.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 3, at 11 a.m. at Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Veal Creek Cemetery in Stephens County under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Joan was born Feb. 1, 1935 in Gorman to the late Willie Clifton and Martha Rena (Gann) Thomas. She married Leo Harlin Cook July 3, 1957 in Rotan. Joan moved to Possum Kingdom Lake in 1979 from Bridge City and worked for H&R Block. She was a member of Westside Ladies Club and MENSA.
Survivors include her husband, Leo Cook of Possum Kingdom Lake; daughter, Letha Stone of Possum Kingdom Lake; sons, Dwaine Cook, and Bert Cook and wife, Mary, all of Possum Kingdom Lake; sister, Tommie Underwood of Wylie; brother, Bob Thomas of Celeste; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Jerry Houghton and Francis Hariman.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

William Radalphas "Bill" Moody, 84, of Graham passed away Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016 in Wichita Falls.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. at Christian Hope Church in Newcastle. Services are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Bill was born June 23, 1932 in Newcastle, to the late Fred Alonzo and Alice Gertrude (Brown) Moody. He was retired from the oil and gas industry and was veteran of the Air Force. Bill enjoyed tending his Roller pigeons and chickens. He loved the outdoors and his cats.
Survivors include his daughter, Sandra Joyce and Stephen of Graham; son, Bill Moody and Debbie Walton of Graham; sisters, Mary Bloodworth of McKinney and June Sanderson of Vernon; grandchildren, Randy Lanier, Lisa Lanier Beard, Justin Blair, Brandon Blair, Leia Lanier Hunter, Lindsay Joyce Kubicsek, Kelsey Joyce and Clayton Moody; great-grandchildren, Ashton Maness, Madisyn Hunter, Gage Hunter, Quentin Blair, Navea Blair and Emerson Kubicsek; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death his by brothers, Jack and Johnny Moody; sisters, Dean Moody, Alwana Burch and Bonnie McWhorter; and daughter, Sharon Brunson.

Annie Bryson Wilson passed away Oct. 29, 2016 in Sunnyvale.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home in Graham. Interment will be in Cottonwood Cemetery near Bryson.
Wilson was born April 15, 1925 in Bryson, to Henry S. and Mary Vera (Rankin) Bryson. She had lived in Bryson and Olney for several years and was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Clarence Wilson.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara McNutt and husband Mike, Phyllis George, and Debbie McDaniel and husband Dewayne; three sisters, Mary Alice King, Peggy Epperson and Henrietta Sonntag; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

James Wesley Nickols, 78 of Mineral Wells passed away at his home Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016.
Funeral service were Monday, Nov. 7, at 11a.m. at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home in Mineral Wells. Burial will follow in Goldthwaite.
He was born at home in Goldthwaite on Oct. 1, 1938. He married Sandy Hausler on May 13, 1967, and they have lived in Mineral Wells for almost 50 years. He was well known in town for being the founder of Redi Auto Supply.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ethel Tyson Nickols.
He leaves behind wife, Sandy Nickols; children, Richard and wife Ellen Nickols of Mineral Wells, Mary Leslie and James Craven of Iowa Park, Dean Nickols of Graford and Jason and wife Dawn Nickols of Rowlett; grandchildren, Michael and wife Veronica Nickols, JoEllen and husband Scott Betterton, Joseph Craven, Bradley Nickols, Joey Nickols, Leslie Craven, Zane Dowell Nickols and James Dean Craven; great-grandchildren, Wesley and Clayton Nickols, Peyton Jewel, Hunter, Levi and Brynlie Nickols and Halee Nickols; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Joyce Ellen Shumate passed away Nov. 6, 2016 in Wichita Falls. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home in Graham, with Mark Bumpus and Richard Segars officiating.
Ellen was born Sept. 21, 1931 in Fort Smith, Ark., to Marshall Frank and Rutha Nunn. She moved to Graham in 1982 from Odessa. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Graham.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Joe Shumate of Graham; son, Bryan Shumate and wife Shirley of Voca; daughter, Linda Millican and husband Homer of Odessa; five grandchildren, Shelly Leann Willis, Rebecca Diane Shumate, Ivan Williams, Jodi Hoffman and Angela Moore, and seven great-grandchildren.

Wanda Grayham, 85, passed away Friday, Nov. 11, 2016 in Graham. 
Graveside services will be held Sunday, Nov. 13, at 2 p.m. in Medlan Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Wanda was born Aug. 13, 1931 in Big Lake. She married John R. Keen Sr. and he preceded her in death in 2015. Wanda was a homemaker and moved to Graham in 2015 from Bonham.
Survivors include her niece, Earlene Bazar of Graham; and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Danny Qualls, and four brothers.

SOUTHLAKE -- Wanda Joyce "Joy" Burgess Bolen passed away at the age of 80 on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016.
Funeral will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, in Mount Olivet Chapel, 2301 N. Sylvania Ave. in Fort Worth.
Joy was born Dec. 16, 1935, to her loving parents that she is now in heaven with, Ben and Ola Burgess. Joy was a loving daughter, cousin, aunt, niece, friend and most importantly a wonderful single mother to her two daughters. She was loving, full of life, caring, giving, and always wanted to help others to the very end. Everyone she met truly loved her.
Joy had bachelor's and master's degrees in education and taught for many decades at Bell Manor Elementary School in Bedford. She loved teaching and especially all of her students. The Saturday before her accident she said, "I don't know why I'm here. I just want to be in heaven." We rejoice that she is there with loved ones and friends who went before her.
Joy is survived by her daughters, Cindi Cary and Pamela J. Bolen; sons-in-law, John Cary and Carlos Ramirez; grandchildren, Kelsey Cary, Cragon Swetnam, Kurien Cary, Lindzey Ramirez and Brock Ramirez; and nieces, Jane Nail, Elaine Lankford and Sherrye Nail.

Joe Lee Hailey passed away Nov. 14, 2016 at his home near Ivan, surrounded by family and friends. He was 41.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the South Prairie Cemetery near Ivan. McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home in Graham is in charge of arrangements.
Joe was born Feb. 8, 1975 in Graham.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Connie Faye Hailey.
Survivors include his father, Tommy Hailey of Ivan; brother, Jim Hailey and wife Angie of Mineral Wells; sister, Jana Hailey-Lackey and husband Buba of Hudson Oaks; two nieces, Mica Hailey and Tanna Goodin; one great-niece and two great-nephews.
